There are many social phases that come and go with the times. Henna in general certainly found a demand surge within the state's younger generations. Other cultures and regions have kept henna relevant for centuries and many children have grown up with the art in their homes. Henna Freckles, on the other hand, are something new to nearly everyone! Using henna as a means for temporary freckles is a fun Instagram trend that has really caught on. Using a makeup pencil for beauty marks or nose freckles isn't unheard of, but using henna is so genius!
Henna Freckles VS Makeup Pencil Freckles
Less Routine, More Fun!
Also keeping the fresh henna freckles (day of application) warm, or even in direct sunlight for 20 or so minutes, will really help get them as dark as possible. Henna won't ever get quite as dark on the face as it does on the hands. Typically, face freckles reach a light to medium brown.
It's totally natural! Henna is actually a plant ground up and mixed with essential oil and water or lemon juice. So you won't have to worry about any issue with breakouts or some sort of reaction. With makeup these days, we can trust most of our sources, but they are still big businesses with money on the bottom line. When money is a number one priority for an already huge business, I tend to get worried.
When you are ready to use your henna, just lay it out on the counter and let it thaw out on it's own. In about 15 minutes it's ready for use, and when you're done just put it back in the freezer until next time. Henna can last through about 5 to 7 refreezes.
How To Apply Henna Freckles
It's fairly simple, just hold the cone directly out from your face, not at an angle. Gently squeeze the cone until just a dollop of henna comes out, stop squeezing, and lift off with a bit of a quick snap. Now repeat!
TIP: keep the freckles condensed on the nose and slowly build out to the cheeks. Naturally freckles shower appear more along the nose ridge and less along the cheeks. Keep about 1/2 inch below your bottom eyelid.
Not sure if you have the guts to apply the freckles yourself? Thats okay! An artist can apply the first set for you, and as they fade, you can reapply on the same dots! Full proof way to make sure your don't go overboard with your henna freckles! I've seen a few horror stories on the internet.
